  1. It looks like the ejector is throwing casings both forward and backward and in the second clip even into his face when he is left hand firing.

    1. The trajectory of casings is forced by recoil, with single shot casing is ejected almost in straight line, with auto it go in to back and with full auto it ride from back to forward. Something that will be fixed in mass production version. The hand change eject in other direction, weapon have simple switch that change direction of ejection from left to right. It was pretty important as they did not want to make the same mistake as French.

    5. sorry but i'm a fan of the Romanian military. they're making due with a limited budget and although some of the equipment is older they're at least working INTERNALLY to try and upgrade their gear.

is it US state of the art? no. have i seen worse? yes. besides as has been demonstrated by the Iraqi Army, gear doesn't matter but the motivation, dedication and resolve of a nations fighting men count for much more.

so with all respect, you need to stop downing your forces. those guys train hard and will bloody the noses of any invading force at the very least and will probably send them scampering back across the border if they have even decent leadership

    6. @Solomon

sure, i didn't said anything about the personnel, that would be stupid, it was about the gear provided by the politicians, the respect is for the people, not the machines, it always was a vital institution, especially for us, not the politicians, not the money nor other alliances, be it war, "revolution" or peace through profesionalism proof to discourage.
some of mine are burried in Odessa...

we have a saying, "we can make a whip out of shit and make it crackle too"

  3. Radom factory is well known for small arms manufacturing. The Polish Beryl AK's are some of the finest AK's ever made. The MSBS looks like it will be a fine system.
Also, lets throw the Czechs in there too, with their small arms manufacturing. Both of these Eastern European countries have a great tradition weapons design.
This Russian/Ukraine conflict will accelerate Poland's military modernization. I would put money down that Poland will become largest and most capable land force in NATO Europe within 10 years.

    1. i'm curious about their local made MBT plans, if i'm not wrong they want to make their own and the Leo 2 is to fill the needs until then.
due to the open fields i would recomend the Merkava idea/concept for them

    2. In 90's after successful modernization of T-72 in form of PT-91 "Twardy" there was some idea about design home made from scratch MBT. It take form of MBT "Goryl" (Gorilla): http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6XuErb7kfMQ/Ud7sOwfweRI/AAAAAAAAatU/5aIRI7dXwyk/s1600/564177_411815715505054_100000298861292_1572906_772241165_n.jpg

After concept phase and technical analyse the program was canceled. First: cost of it would be a just too big. Second: lack of political will. Third: it would be easy to buy already proven design from foreign nation.

But after many years the need of new MBT's was on hold, lack of will or any reason to modernize armored forces because... why? The Europe is safe and there ill be no wars here. After taking power of new president in Russia the nationalistic drums start to play in the East...

The first idea was resurface the "Goryl" program. But that was an dead end, it was only in concept phase that was already outdated. We have a very good relations with Germany so both HQ meet and speak about some things, it bear fruit of Leo's sell. Germans were more to happy to sell surplus tanks with everything and start in to modernization programs as main competitors. The Leo's will be modernized to standard 2PL that is more or less equivalent of Revolution.

The local made armor programs focused on replacing the old fleet of BMP-1, the first sign of go online are "Anders" multirole platform base on CV90 design. The PL-1 concept is only...an concept car but some it's designs will be put in the real vehicle also similar to CV90.

    3. looks a bit like the italian MBT one :)

well, we have the same story...it was supposed to be a coop with the germans, it also was cancelled for the same reasons, politics, money...

the chassis was a romanian made TR-125 (another cancelled project)

      http://rm-cdn.serverhost.ro/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Picture_01.jpg (the chassis)

      http://rumaniamilitary.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/tr-b2-4_2000_.png (the final thing)

and now since the Leo 2 stocks are out, who knows what options are left (not too many, probably Abrams as a quick one) we need to replace almost everything, that's about 20-30 billions probably..
